Easy Newsletter: Step-by-step setup
For the initial setup of Easy Newsletter, you can read through our step-by-step guide.
Settings: Easy Newsletter
You'll find the settings in the WordPress dashboard under „Easy Newsletter“ and then „Settings“.
- Sender email address
Email address from which your newsletter is sent. - Sender's email name
Name displayed to subscribers when they receive the newsletter. - Reply to e-mail address
Email address to which replies to the newsletter will be sent. - Maximum emails sent per interval
How many emails should be sent simultaneously? The default value is 60, but this can be adjusted individually. - Interval in seconds
How long should an interval between two email sending actions be? The default value is 300. - Registration form fields
The fields can be individually selected or deselected using checkboxes and will be requested or not in the registration form accordingly.- Salutation
- Gender
- First name
- Surname
- Phone number
- Sender email address
- Currently active newsletter
Show the name of the newsletter that is currently being sent. - Currently active newsletter ID
Displays the ID of the newsletter currently being sent. - Selected mode
Here you can choose between „default“ and „user“. In „default“ mode, a custom list for newsletter recipients is used in the backend. In „user“ mode, the plugin uses the standard WordPress user list for newsletter recipients. - Sending process is running
Is active when a newsletter is sent. - Standard Notification ID
ID of the newsletter post that is sent by default when a new recipient signs up. The default value is determined and set during installation. Can be customised. - Standard unsubscribe message ID
ID of the newsletter post that is sent by default when a recipient unsubscribes. The default value is determined and set during installation. Can be customized. - Standard welcome message ID
ID of the newsletter item that is sent by default when a new recipient has successfully registered/activated. Default value is determined and set during installation. Can be adjusted. - Available subscriber category
Recipient categories can be added here, which can be used to restrict newsletter distribution. - Available subscriber roles
Recipient roles can be added here, which can be used to restrict newsletter distribution. - Custom newsletter CSS
You can add custom CSS here. The CSS you add here will then be automatically applied to all newsletters. - Role Key for New Subscribers
Define the role key for new subscribers. The default is `en_user_subscriber`. This is used in the „user“ mode for a new user role in the default WordPress user list. - Registration, Page ID
ID of the page containing the registration page content. Default is determined and set during installation. Can be customised. - Registration successful, page ID
ID of the page displayed to the user upon successful registration. Default value is determined and set during installation. Can be customised. - Confirmation successful, page ID
ID of the page displayed to the user upon successful confirmation. Default value is determined and set during installation. Can be customised. - Confirmation declined, page ID
ID of the page displayed to the user when confirmation was rejected. Default is determined and set during installation. Can be customised. - Logged out, page ID
ID of the page that is shown to the user when they wish to unsubscribe from the newsletter. The default value is determined and set during installation. Can be customised. - unsubscribedConfirmedPageID
ID of the page shown to the user when they have successfully unsubscribed from the newsletter. Default is determined and set during installation. Can be customised. - Registration form, page ID

Press the button to stop sending the newsletter. - File Upload
Upload existing contacts here as a CSV file. For your contacts to be imported successfully, your CSV file must contain the following columns. It is important that the columns are arranged in the following order: Salutation, Gender, First Name, Last Name, Phone Number, Email Address, and then the following columns: Optional custom fields.- Select file – Select the file you wish to upload.
- Import CSV – Clicking the button will upload the file.
All Newsletters
You can find the newsletters in the WordPress dashboard under Easy Newsletter and then „All Newsletters“.
- Create button„
Click the button to create a new newsletter - Default – Welcome
Welcome email, which is sent as soon as people have successfully signed up for the newsletter. Text and content can be freely adapted. - Default – Unsubscribed
Unsubscribe confirmation email, sent once people unsubscribe from the newsletter. Text and content are freely selectable. The unsubscribe link should not be changed. - Default – Activation
Registration email, which is sent as soon as someone signs up for the newsletter. Text and content can be freely chosen. The registration link should not be changed.
Newsletter single page
You'll find the newsletter single page in the WordPress dashboard under Easy Newsletter „All Newsletter“ and then you can click the „Create“ button.
- Send newsletter button„
Click the „Send Newsletter“ button to send the newsletter. A pop-up will appear, displaying the number of recipients the newsletter will be sent to. If you are sure you want to send the newsletter, confirm the sending by clicking “Yes”. If anything is still not right, you can cancel the sending by clicking “No”. - Button „Send Test Email“
Send a test email to the test email address you have on file. - Save draft
Save your newsletter as a draft. - Preview
View the preview of your newsletter. The preview is identical to the code that is also used in the emails when sending newsletters. - Publish button„
Saves your newsletter. It can then be found via the frontend.
Newsletter single page Sidebar: Newsletter Settings
You can find the newsletter settings in the sidebar of your editor under „Newsletter Settings“ on the individual newsletter pages.
- Subject
You can enter your subject line for your newsletter here. - Newsletter Excerpt

Pages
In the WordPress Dashboard, under „Pages,“ you'll find seven created pages that are required for the plugin. The content on each page is in English by default, but can be translated and adapted via the editor.

Adapt the registration form for your newsletter here. Copy the shortcode and paste it onto the desired pages on your website. The registration form will then be displayed there.
